so I’m all for being productive in the short time we have in the gym. I’ve been going to the gym during my lunch break and soon realised I don’t have enough time to do all I wanted, so started looking at Interval training. I’m sure you can all relate to the frustrations of getting into shape, weight-loss seeming nothing more than a distant promise. Having said that some tips to do so can be found here
I have always been aware of Fartlek (love that word) training and the benefits of training the heart like another muscle, because essentially that what it is!
Below is a little idea of how to structure your Interval training via running/cycling/rowing. In my case I use the treadmill and run at 8mph for 3 mins and rest for 2 mins but you can actively rest (by this I mean a fast walk, keep moving) for more or less time to suit where you are on your journey.
